The Fossil Park11 yr. olds got off to a slow start as they fell hard to
a strong Tallahassee team on a rain-soaked field in Game One. In Game
Two, Fossil Park faced Brent from Pensacola, last year's.10 yr. old
Dizzy Dean State Champion and Dizzy Dean World Series Runners-Up. The
kids from Fossil Park held off a late rally by Brent to get the win 8 -
7. Fossil Park shut out their next opponent, Lynn Haven, 10 -
0. In Game Four, Fossil Park held off last year's Florida Little
Major League Runners-Up, Pensacola Bill Bond, by a score of 7 - 4.
Myrtle Grove out of Pensacola was the only team now standing in the way
of Fossil Park's chance for a rematch with Tallahassee who remained
undefeated. In Game Five, Myrtle Grove battled back taking
advantage of a tired Fossil Park team, now playing their second game of
the evening. Myrtle Grove fell short to the boys from St. Pete as Fossil
Park held off to win 10 - 8. Fossil Park fought through the
loser's bracket back to the Championship Game where they once again fell
to a mightier foe 11 - 1. Fossil Park congratulates both
Tallahassee and Fossil Park for a superb tournament performance
