July 07-13: 8, 9, and 13 & Under State Tournaments
Teams, parents, family
members and fans should plan on a week stay in order to complete the
tournaments from start to end. We anticipate a number of teams
from around the state to be in attendance and this will be a great
experience for all. Take a

Q&A (Questions and
Answers):
Q: How many teams
may qualify from my district?
A: The top three teams from each district will automatically qualify.
Q: May other teams from our district attend?
A: Once the qualified teams have confirmed their commitment
we will determine if there is enough room to add additional teams.
Q: What are the
deadlines for entrance to the tournaments?
A: Entry deadlines for the 6 & 7 Yr. old tournaments should
be in by June 14th., 2006. Commitments for the 8, 9,. and 13
yr. old tournaments are due by June 28th. 2006
NOTE: Entry Deadlines extended to June 17th.
for 6 and 7 yr. olds.
Q: What type of game format will be used?
A: Tournament will be Pool Play Format with a 3 game
guaranteed minimum play. Teams should plan on playing double
headers during the tournament. Check back later for a complete
description of the gamming format and brackets.
Q: Will games be played during the day?
A: Yes; Game play will begin each morning and continue
throughout the day until the tournament is complete.
Q: Will there be concessions (breakfast, lunch, etc)?
A: Yes; We will offer breakfast, lunch, and evening
specials every day of the tournament until complete.
No Coolers Will Be Permitted In The Park.
Q: Will our family have time to do anything while we are
there?
A: Keep in mind that this is a Dizzy Dean State Championship
Tournament but we also realize that families come from far away and
wish to have time to enjoy what the Bay Area has to offer. We
will do everything possible to schedule games and brackets allowing
for teams to enjoy the area whether it be the white sandy gulf beaches,
Busch Gardens, a Devil Rays game, or any number of attractions and
events.
Q: Will we be able to purchase memorabilia of the tournaments
for our child?
A: Yes; We will have State T-Shirts, Final Four
T-Shirts, State Trading Pins as well as other pins that you may want
to take to the World Series with you, and many other items.

Q: Are Trading Pins required for these tournaments?
A: No; We will be offering trading pins of a variety for
sale including a State Tournament Pin featuring our State Tournament
Theme. We felt that those that continue on to the World Series
may wish to purchase a pin commemorating their State Tournament.
Q: Do the coaches have to wear uniforms?
A: Yes; Managers, coaches and assistant coaches must be in
uniform for the State Tournaments.
Q: Is the 6 & Under Tournament a T-Ball Tournament?
A: The 6 & Under Tournament is coach pitch and will follow
the rules under Farm League Rules for ages 6-8 yrs. of age. A
batting tee will not be permitted
Q: Are the pitching mounds temporary mounds?
A: No. Our mounds on each field are permanent type
mounds and will be set in accordance to the distances required by
Dizzy Dean Rules.
Q: What type of fields will we be playing on?
A: Each of our our fields are clay capped. The Fields
are arranged conveniently to parking and concessions and the
adjacent pool where there will be extra restroom facilities:
Q: How long will the tournament last?
A: We had set aside a week for each tournament in the event
that there would be a large number of teams participating.
Each tournament length will be determined on the number of teams
participating. We do not foresee the 6 & 7 Yr. Olds
Tournaments lasting beyond Tuesday, June 27th. This is, of
course, providing that weather is favorable and we do not experience
any delays in games or days.:
Q: Our area did not have a Dizzy Dean District Tournament.
Can we still enter an all-star team into your tournaments?
A: It may be still possible for you to sanction your team
